SHP is an architecture, design, and engineering firm based in Cincinnati, but operating in multiple states nationwide (OH, KY, PA, & NC). For more than 120 years they have been crafting spaces and environments for people to thrive in. I co-oped at SHP in the Summer of 2024 and Spring 2025.
ArtWave Campaign
Artswave is the primary way Cincinnati’s arts get funding. BLINK, murals, art museums, concerts, events, exhibitions, art education programming, and so much more. ArtsWave relies on the generosity of Cincinnati businesses, which fund over 50% of ArtsWave’s finances for the year.
Campaign Concept
Every year SHP does their own internal campaign to support the arts. The theme usually revolves around where SHP is as a company. In mid 2018, SHP moved to downtown Cincinnati, the theme in 2019 was ‘This is Home’. In 2020 we had the Pandemic, 2021 was ‘Restart the Arts’.
Last year at SHP, the former President retired. This meant there was new leadership brought in. Alongside the new leadership, there have been a lot of new hirings in the last couple of years and new offices opened up in a few states. ArtsWave also launched their new ArtsWave app. With SHP’s affinity for puzzles and the rest of this in mind, our theme for 2025 was ‘Connect’.
How do we represent connectedness?
How do we engage the firm to support the arts?
How can we connect the office to ArtsWave’s new app?

Spaces & Places
My task was to find a visual identity for our new series on social media, Spaces & Places. The series concept is that we should be able to show any aspect of SHP’s design spaces. Learning Labs, Media Centers, Historic Buildings, Outdoor Learning, etc.
